Consulmotive P/L was commissioned by Ultimate Taxiads P/L to inspect the upgraded Taxi Sign design to ensure its compliance with applicable Australian Design Rule 44/02, Passenger Transport (Taxi Cab Services) Regulation 2001 - Sect 20 and RTA Vehicle Standards Information Sheet No. 35. The roof mounted taxi sign was also load tested to twenty times it own weight in order to ascertain its ability to resist loads in the forward, side and rearward horizontal directions. The load tests were conducted by the University of Sydney, Structures Laboratory. The upgraded design of the roof sign is configured to restrain an approved Child Safety Restraint Seat. The lower base has been moulded to locate the child restraint seat in the inverted horizontal position whilst the top locks down onto the seat ensuring it is retained within the roof sign at all times whilst in the locked position.
